Professional Development: Keeping it practical, relevant, and engaging.

I love being a Psychologist. I decided that was what I wanted to do when I was 9 and it never disappoints!

For me, being a Psychologist looks like this:
– Sharing space with clients directly.
– Supporting organisations to navigate mental health and stress in their teams.
– Building skills for other direct care workers to be confident and competent in their roles.
– Supporting the development of mental health resources for everyone.
– Working to effect social and policy change for mental health with NFP organisations.

It’s impossible to pick my favourite part of my role, but something that I have found to be a highlight (particularly in the last 2 years) is connecting with other clinicians when I host Professional Development.

I’ve met and connected with some incredible clinicians and one thing I keep being asked for is to host a Professional Development program for client intake and how to conduct a thorough biopsychosocial assessment for adults and children.

So as requested, I went back to the well, did heaps of research and development, and am now ready to share my new PD workshop, ‘Biopsychosocial Assessments’. This workshop aims to support those within the caring profession, and assist in the development of effective treatment plans to strengthen your relationship with clients. This webinar will be on Friday 29th April, 9:30-12:30pm and will grant you 3 PD points. To learn more or register for this workshop, click HERE.

I’m also excited to announce I will be hosting CBE’s Trauma-Informed Practice Skills on the 13th and 20th of May. This 8 hour course will be split over 2 days, being hosted from 9:30am – 1:30pm each day. The TIPS Program will cover four key modules, and aims to improve your understanding of the theory behind, as well as as the implications and presentations of, trauma. This course will grant you 8 PD points. To learn more or register for this workshop, click HERE.

If you’ve done PD with me before, you know my focus is on making the content practical, relevant and engaging.

If you or your team would benefit from this PD, I’d love to see you for a full training workshop, free resources, PD hrs, certificate and more confidence in yourself as a practitioner!
